The Reconnecting and Rebuilding Toolkit, K–6

As educators, we know that our students are carrying a heavy emotional load this year.  How are we supporting them and rebuilding our learning communities? Concrete tools are needed to establish the safe, supportive learning context in which students can grow.

The Reconnecting and Rebuilding Toolkit is a resource for all K–6 teachers in this vital work. It provides robust guidance for supporting students in both virtual and in-person settings, a series of developmentally appropriate Class Meetings, and recommendations for preparing for remote learning in a variety of circumstances.

The Toolkit provides Class Meetings and guidance on topics including:

  • Preparing for Remote Learning
  • Coming Back from Remote Learning
  • Keeping Each Other Safe
  • Managing Difficult Emotions
  • Problem Solving
  • Handling Loss
  • Responding to Tragedy
  • Developing Empathy
