The Making Meaning program combines research-based best practices in reading comprehension and vocabulary development with support for fostering students’ growth as caring, collaborative, principled people. Making Meaning provides:

  • Comprehension strategies introduced appropriately and explicitly
  • Direct instruction in vocabulary through engaging activities
  • Lessons integrated with social objectives to build classroom community
  • Prompts that teach students to respectfully share, agree, and disagree
  • Quality children's literature for authentic engagement
