Creating Confident Young Readers

The Being a Reader program is a beginning reading curriculum designed to help all students learn the foundational skills and strategies required for reading success. The program integrates reading instruction with the social skills needed to build a caring classroom community. Being a Reader  includes:

  • Whole-class and small-group instruction
  • Differentiated instruction to meet students where they are academically
  • Direct instruction in social skill development
